5 Ways to Hit the 'Reset Button'
Posted on 05 December 2016
Did you inhale a whole pizza last night?
Are you feeling slightly 'off' and not sure why?
Here are 5 simple ways you can hit the 'reset button' and find more balance...
1. Take some time for self-care
Clean your bathroom until it sparkles, draw a bath, and hop in! Enjoy a face mask while you soak away any stress. Low lights and candles can help set the mood.
2. Declutter your digital life
Delete apps you no longer use, clear out your inbox, and un-bookmark pages you don't need. It's amazing how this simple task can make you feel loads lighter.
3. Get outside
Head to a park, beach, hiking trail, or really anywhere where you can experience sunshine and fresh air. Even 10 minutes during a lunch break can do wonders. Bonus points if you turn off your phone and simply focus on deep breathing and being in sync with your surroundings.
4. Have a healthy day
Pizza should be its own food group in my opinion, but my love for pizza certainly doesn't help how I feel the next day after over-indulging. Start with a green smoothie (spinach, kale, unsweetened almond milk, pineapple, banana, sun butter, chia seeds) at breakfast and keep the healthy trend going all day. Up your intake of fruits and veggies to get back on track!
5. Spring cleaning anyone?
Choose one room or area of your house that could use a touch of TLC. Donate items that do not SPARK JOY to Goodwill or the Salvation Army, organize your sock drawer, and clean any normally neglected areas (base boards, bath mats, throw blankets, etc.). Learning to live more minimally has done wonders for my mental health!
